Abstract:

BlackBerry – a notorious brand for its once-famous secure handsets followed by a sudden fall from grace, has strong come back to be a cyber security software and services company dedicated to securing the Enterprise of Things (EoT).  BlackBerry has unique positioning in the EoT market and with security credentials that have never been in doubt – with many of the world’s most security-conscious industries and organizations relying on BlackBerry every day, including all G7 governments, top 10 largest banks, over 60 million cars on the road are running BlackBerry software.

We will discuss about the constant tug-of-war between securing systems and protecting the company from risk, or empowering employees to be as productive as possible and drive growth.  In 2018, organization stakeholders - from the C-Suite to individual contributors - are demanding more and not less from its IT organization.  IT teams and lines of business are required to initiate, strategize and support the growing demands of the competitive workplace while protecting the core intellectual property, i.e., your data, files and more.

Most organizations constantly debate whether to secure the systems and process to protect the data from reaching wrong hands or whether to empower their employees and business partners who conduct the day-to-day operations and drive growth.  This battle between data security vs. personal productivity never ends, but let's come to terms with how we can utilize the strengths each has to offer to meet the needs of the next generation of digital workplace transformation.
